According to the Herald Sun, Holden has cracked a 1.5 billion dollar deal with General Motors to export 50,000 models a year in America. The Commodore will sell as a Pontiac G8 for around $25,000US and Bob Lutz is impressed with the deal. The first time the Yanks will see the G8 will be at the Chicago Auto show next month.
The VE is the third major Aussie export in 20 years, with its Monaro and also Ford's Capri in the early 1990's.
The Monaro GTO ceased production late last year, and the Capri failed due to reliability and the Mazda MX5.
In other news, err... Holden's Efijy has been declared star of the show in Detroit!
